Parable of the Talents | Which one are you?

It’s been long since I have posted something on this blog, I probably got caught up with life but I’ve just noticed that our society needs more conversations about real life issues more than ever and sometimes they are started by a blog like mine. Marriage is real, relationships are real, jobs are real and business is also real. let’s not get caught in corruption scandals, cheat codes and seemingly get rich by night schemes. There is a real steady process and steps to consider when building anything in life.

Let me start by reciting one of may favorite but also hard hitting statements that I heard from Myles Munroe, What you mismanage you lose! Life is about management and only the better managers (not best) survive the storms and enjoy the promotions that come with the diligent process of discipline and persistent hardworking. What you currently have in your life right now is at the level you have managed your life. I am the level I am in my business because that is how I have grown my management skills so far, the same is for my relationships, time management, health and even my spiritual life.

The parable of the Talents is a story of a Master of an estate who was going away for a long time and he left his three servants talents based on their level of management of their service to him. To one he left five talents, the next he left three talents and the last servant got one talent. The first two servants made use of these talents and generated a profit whilst the last servant who got one talent kept it away only to return it to the Master as it was initially.

The first two were rewarded with more talents because they managed their talents well and even grew what they initially got whilst the last servant even got the one talent he had taken away and given to those that produced. What’s the meaning for all this? The principle of being a great manager can never be underrated. Life has its own principles that cannot be cheated. Let’s not be fooled by instant riches that a blinging on instagram and the social media relationships that are stressing the masses going through real life.

What you and I need to grow is our ability to generate a profit in anything we get involved with whether you are leading a church or volunteer group or you are a messenger at work. A job, a place in a committee, a relationship all these are talents put in our hands as opportunities either to grow them and increase our capacity to manage better or mismanage them and lose them to those that can manage them better. Faithfulness attracts promotion that’s just the principle in life regardless of your skin color or religion because life is by design!
